For nearly a decade, Kimberly Chmielewski has been cultivating and enriching her artistic voice through multi-disciplinary performances. Chmielewski is the artistic director and co-collaborator of jk-co, and has an extensive performance career as a company dancer with Hannah Kahn Dance Company, Maureen Breeze Dance Theatre, Nu-World Contemporary Danse Theatre, Lemon Sponge Cake Contemporary Ballet, Moraporvida Contemporary Dance, APEX Dance, BaiKo, and has collaborated in many freelance projects.  Kimberly has had the privilege of working with Nina Watt of the José Limón Trust, Michael Medcalf, Johanna Rosenthal-Read and works by Alejandro Cerrudo, Alonzo King, David Dorfman, Jaime Camarena, Julie Bour, and Gina Patterson.

 

Kimberly graduated magna cum laude from the University of Iowa with her BFA and Honors in Dance and BA Sociology, and began her early training under the direction of George de la Peña, Greg Begley, Judith Svalander, Lawrence Pech, and at institutions such as The Joffrey Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensives.
